Next enlargement in Metro line 12
On Sunday, the City Government reported on the began the construction of a third port at the junction of the streets West 83 and South 122, colony Cove, delegation Álvaro Obregón, in order to continue with the expansion of the transportation (STC) Metro line 12 the system. This will improve the connection between Mixcoac and Observatory.
Information shared in a statement, mention that the vertical structure of 10 meters in diameter will have a depth of 38 meters and allow the entry and exit of material, as well as equipment for construction, the tunnel of 4.6 kilometres, covered by the project.
This will bring great benefits for users who are transported to the Observatory station.
The time set for the work is 4 months, however, before any construction or excavation of tunnel work, they will extract about 2,950 cubic meters of Earth – equivalent to more than 200 trucks of load-.
About the subject, Edgar Tungüí Rodríguez, Secretary of works and services of the city of Mexico, informed 13 ports will be built in total simultaneously for the extension of the Metro line.
It is worth mentioning the various advantages it will offer this operation:
- It will benefit daily to more than 200,000 people.
- Transfer times will decrease 60%.
- It will directly connect the West with the East of the Mexican capital.
- It will serve as interconnection with different lines of the Metro and the train Intercity Toluca.
The first part of this work, including work in Street Garden and the excavation of the underground passage in E Street, close to its final stage and is expected to be completed in the middle of this year.
